In the heart of Naples lies the city’s iconic Cathedral, home to one of the world’s most treasured collections: the Treasure of San Gennaro, the patron saint of Naples. From there, the tour continues through the historic center, along the famous “Spaccanapoli” street, where the atmosphere transforms. You’ll hear the chatter of passersby and savor the aromas of Neapolitan cuisine filling the air, guiding you to Via San Gregorio Armeno, the most famous street where the Christmas spirit thrives year-round thanks to the tradition and artistry of Nativity scenes.
Along Via San Gregorio Armeno, you’ll find the Church of San Lorenzo Maggiore, a stunning example of French Gothic architecture in Naples. Built in 1235, the church stands on the remains of the ancient Macellum, located in the Agora of the ancient Greek city.
At the end of Via San Gregorio Armeno, you’ll arrive at Via dei Tribunali, where you’ll see skulls outside the Church of the Souls in Purgatory and meet Pulcinella, one of Naples’ most iconic figures.
The tour concludes in Piazza del Gesù Nuovo, where you’ll admire the unique Gothic stonework and architecture of two symbolic churches: the Church of Gesù Nuovo and the Monastery of Santa Chiara.
